We are a family owned children, adolescents and adult psychiatry clinic, who have come together to make our dreams come true. All of us are born and raised in Minnesota and are eager to provide high quality adult psychiatry services to our very own community. Together, we bring a variety of clinical and administrative experience. Our experience varies from backgrounds of nursing, medical coding & billing, health administration, and medication management. Our goal is to meet the needs of every patient who seeks care for medication management of a psychiatric condition. We all strive to work closely with each patient to help improve their quality of life. We value the therapeutic relationship and look forward to working with patients on their journey to better their mental health.
In 2019, Horizon Psychiatry and Family Based Therapy Associates , formed a strategic alliance in order to bring together our respective strengths and shared philosophies of providing exceptional and ethically delivered mental health care. We believe this alliance will advance the provision of collaborative mental health care through the prompt response to persons requesting diagnosis, psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management or combinations of these services.
Deb Zinken has over 30 years of experience working in the behavioral health field in a variety of inpatient & outpatient settings. She completed her graduate work in 2005 at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.
She enjoys working with clients dealing with mood disorders, anxiety & depression, psychotic disorders, those managing a chronic mental illness and other mental health diagnoses. She uses a teamwork approach together with each patient to help them implement a plan to live life better. Outside of work, Deb enjoys time with family & friends, pets, reading, camping, and life-long learning.
Jean Kirk completed her bachelor of nursing degree at The College of St. Scholastica. She continued on at The College of St. Scholastica to complete her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
She has over 20 years of experience in health care and takes a multidisciplinary approach of care with special interests in depression, anxiety and mood disorders. She believes in collaboration of care and working together with each and every patient to provide the best possible care.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends and spending time outside and traveling.
Ryan Zinken completed his bachelor of nursing degree at The College of St. Scholastica, where he continued his education to complete the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. He has been working in the health care field for nearly 20 years.
Some of his clinical interests include mood and psychotic disorders. Helping people in his community is his number one priority.
He enjoys outdoor activities like fishing, camping and hunting. Spending time with family and friends is most important to him.
Heath has 6+ years of psychiatric health care experience. He enjoys working with all ages, including children/adolescents with clinical interests in ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.
Heath is committed to partnering with families and taking a team approach in developing individualized treatment plans.
He enjoys spending time with family & friends, pets, camping, watching sports and building RC cars.
